Osseo Area Schools celebrates two Minnesota Teacher of the Year candidates for 2026

Education Minnesota has released 128 candidate names for the 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year award, and this year two teachers from Osseo Area Schools are among the list of candidates: 

• Kathryn Grivna, a social studies teacher at Maple Grove Senior High School
• Michael Herdan, a social studies teacher at Maple Grove Middle School

Minnesota Teacher of the Year is in its 62nd year of celebrating the tradition of teaching excellence across the state. The candidates now move on to the semifinalist round, with the Teacher of the Year selected from a group of finalists this spring and recognized at a banquet May 3.
